Free in Terminal
Read crypto momentum through the market regime.
Crypto Regime is a free section inside TellHawk Terminal. It classifies Bitcoin's market from its own daily bars into one of five regimes, then scores eight coins from their RSI and MACD, reading those indicators through the lens of the current regime.
- Five regimes, with a rule-strength figure
- Limitations and a regime guide on the page

What it is
Crypto Regime, explained.
Crypto Regime does two things. First, it looks at Bitcoin's last 90 days of daily price action and classifies the market as strongly trending, trending, choppy, volatile trending or ranging. Second, for each of eight coins (BTC, ETH, SOL, BNB, XRP, AVAX, DOGE, ADA) it computes a 0 to 100 regime-adjusted momentum score from that coin's RSI and MACD, adjusted for which regime Bitcoin is in.
It is a mechanical description of recent price behaviour, refreshed nightly from third-party daily prices. It is not backtested, it does not predict price and it is not investment advice. The section carries its own guide, a regime guide and a limitations card. You find it in Terminal's MACRO menu group, next to FX Signals, once you are signed in.
Who it is for
Crypto traders who want context
You want to know whether the market is trending or chopping before you decide how to read an RSI number.
People who screen, then dig in
You want to narrow a list of coins to the ones worth a closer look, not to be told what to buy.
Learners
A built-in regime guide explains what tends to work, and what tends not to, in each regime.
Key features
What it does today.
Five regimes from Bitcoin's own bars
Regime comes from Kaufman's Efficiency Ratio, ATR as a percentage of price, a 14-day RSI and the slope of the 20-period EMA against the 50-period EMA, checked against fixed bands in order. With fewer than 30 daily bars it reports ranging at a fixed 30% confidence rather than guess.
- Strongly trending, trending, choppy, volatile trending, ranging
- A rule-strength figure derived from how extreme the efficiency ratio was (not a probability)
- Bitcoin's price with 7-day and 30-day change alongside

The same RSI means different things in different regimes
In a trending regime an RSI above 55 raises a coin's score; in a choppy or ranging one, a high RSI lowers it. The tool says so plainly, and shows which regime was used for every score.
- Eight coins: BTC, ETH, SOL, BNB, XRP, AVAX, DOGE, ADA
- Scores map to strong up, up, neutral, down and strong down
- A regime guide lists what usually works and what does not in each regime

The coin table, sorted by score, with its source and date line underneath. Daily bars as of 26 September 2026.
Explained on the page
A guide above the table explains how the regime and the score are built, a regime guide describes each of the five regimes, and a card headed Read this before using the signals lists the limitations.
No account balance, no orders
It does not manage risk, size positions or place trades.
How it works
3 steps, from first look to result.
A real screen capture of Crypto Regime.
Check the regime first
Read the regime badge and its rule strength before you look at any score. The regime is the lens.

Scan the eight coins
Sort the table by score, signal, RSI or 7-day change. A CSV export is there too; Free gets a preview and the full export is part of Pro.

The coin table, sorted by score, with its source and date line underneath. Daily bars as of 26 September 2026.
Read the scores in context
Each score is shown with the regime it was computed under. A strong up in a choppy regime is weaker evidence than the same label in a trending one.

The limitations card and the regime guide sit on the same screen as the numbers.
Limits
What to know before you use it.
- Crypto Regime is a free section inside TellHawk Terminal (MACRO menu group, next to FX Signals). Sign-in is required; it is not a separate public website.
- The regime is detected from Bitcoin alone and applied to every pair, so a coin in its own consolidation can still be scored with trend-following logic if Bitcoin is trending.
- It uses daily bars on a market that never closes, updated nightly. Intraday moves are not visible, and the regime can flip between refreshes.
- None of this has been backtested or validated. There is no win rate and no claim that trading on it would have made money.
- Prices are aggregated USD quotes from third-party daily market data, not one exchange's order book.
